Transfer
The Transfer inventory transaction page is used to move items from one warehouse location to another. The Transfer function is only available if Advanced Inventory is enabled.
The transfer process can be completed either by performing a Transfer Out and then a Transfer In, or by performing a Quick Transfer.
-
Transfer Out – moves items out of a current warehouse and designates the warehouse they are to be sent to
-
Transfer In – moves items into a designated warehouse when they arrive and are received into inventory
-
Quick Transfer – moves items out of one warehouse and into another in one step
In general, the Transfer Out and Transfer In process is used when there is a shipping lag between the two events to ensure that the transactions reflect the actual movement of the items. A Quick Transfer is often performed when warehouses are on the same property or when items are being transferred between bin locations in a single warehouse and the logistics of the transfer does not need to be managed.
To open the Transfer page:
-
Access the Inventory module by clicking the Inventory link at the top of the page.
-
Select the Transactions tab.
-
At the top of the page, click the Transfer link.
You can perform the following operations on this page.
A Transfer Out transaction removes items from a warehouse and designates the warehouse that the items should be transferred to. Although you can transfer multiple items, you must transfer them to a single warehouse. If you want to transfer items to multiple warehouses, you must create separate transactions.
When you transfer items out, the system reduces the on-hand quantity of each item by the number transferred out of the warehouse.

In the Warehouse field, select the name of the warehouse that the items are being transferred out of.
